This medication can be given with or without food; however, giving with food may help prevent gastrointestinal side effects. Administer the complete course of the medication as prescribed, even if your pet's condition has improved. Failure to administer the entire course of treatment may cause recurrence or worsening of the infection. Contact your veterinarian ahead of time if your pet needs a refill.

Missed Doses: Administer the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.

Side Effects: The most common side effects of this medication are vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite. These symptoms may improve over the course of treatment. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet experiences severe vomiting or diarrhea, complete loss of appetite, loss of coordination, tremors, behavioral changes, or if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., rash, fever, chills, labored⁄difficulty breathing).
